The Goodwood Estate has a long history of supporting art, but now the Goodwood Art Foundation, a new not-for-profit destination for contemporary art, takes it further.

ART, ENVIRONMENT and EDUCATION are the three pillars at the centre of everything we do. Our vision is to create inspirational experiences, and foster wellbeing, creativity and lifelong learning through engagement with art and connectedness to nature.

Weve been working with some of the very best curators, artists, designers, educators and architects to make our vision a reality and our incredible team is working hard to bring everything together in time for our opening on 31 May.

What you can expect…

ART: A bold curatorial vision from Ann Gallagher delivering encounters with work by world-renowned contemporary artists, both within our pavilion galleries and across our beautiful South Downs landscape. The inaugural season includes works by Rachel Whiteread, Hélio Oiticica and Veronica Ryan, with more names to be announced soon.

ENVIRONMENT: A 70-acre landscape of wooded glades, wildflower meadows and ancient woodland offering solace and reflection and a unique setting for art outdoors. Reimagined with innovative planting and design by Dan Pearson Studio to deliver 24 seasonal moments, the environment will subtly shift as the year passes, reframing the art and providing ever-changing views and vistas for visitors.

EDUCATION: A learning programme designed by Sally Bacon OBE to support personal, creative and skills development and wellbeing through engagement with art in a natural environment. Targeted at those primary and secondary schools most in need, well deliver a programme of practical art experiences for children and young people of all ages.
