A Warm Welcome at the Waters Edge: Discovering the Heart of CYE in Chichester Harbour

Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Chichester Harbour, Christian Youth Enterprises (CYE) has been a local cornerstone for over 40 years. Since 1985, this unique activity centre has been much more than just a place to get active - it is a community dedicated to transforming lives through the magic of outdoor adventure.  CYE offers a safe space for people to try new things, build lasting friendships, and find a deeper sense of purpose.

 Come As You Are

At the very heart of CYE is a simple invitation: "Come as you are - but dont leave as you were."  Its a place for everyone to grow - whether you are an expert sailor or have never been in a boat before.  The ethos amongst the staff and community here is built around the idea of being "Perfectly Imperfect."  This makes it  a place where every person is warmly welcomed and valued exactly as they are from the moment they arrive.

More Than Just Sailing

 While the sparkle of the water and the pull of the sails are some of the magical reasons people keep coming back, the mission at CYE goes much deeper. The team uses adventure and shared experiences to help people of all ages reconnect - with themselves, with those around them, and with God.

The approach is "Wholeheartedly Joyful." You can feel it across the centre, everything they do is sprinkled with playfulness. Through activities like the BC Paddle Awards and RYA sailing courses offered at different times through the year, guests build so much more than technical skills.

 Opportunities are found at CYE to develop:

A Legacy of Support

In a world that can often feel busy and disconnected, CYEs work is a vital breath of fresh air. As a local Christian charity, CYE are dedicated to being "Deeply Championing" for every individual who comes through the gate.   They focus on building people up and giving those who want it the chance to lead and grow, even if that means making a few mistakes along the way.

The team looks towards finding and offering "Life to the Full." Guests often head home with a renewed sense of hope and a bit more joy in their hearts, carrying the lessons they learned in the harbour back into their daily lives.  The invitation to join in is open to you!
