ENSEMBLE REZA: From Brahms to Bartok with Bogdan Vacarescu (violin) & conservatoire students
Chichester Music Society is delighted to welcome back members of Ensemble Reza for an evening concert starting at 7pm at Christ Church (Methodist and United Reformed) near the bottom of South Street in Chichester.
Bringing together Romantic lyricism, central and Eastern European folk traditions, Ensemble Reza will team up with acclaimed Romanian violinist Bogdan Vacarescu; involving talented students from the University of Chichester Conservatoire, to explore how Brahms, Dvorak, Suk, and Bartók reimagined and wove folk idioms from central and Eastern Europe into chamber music.
The programme will feature movements from Brahmss Sextet in Bb and Quintet in G, Suks Serenade, Bartoks Romanian Dances, Dvoraks "American" and "Slavonic" quartets and arrangements by Ensemble Reza of folk music from the Balkans.
Established over a decade ago, ENSEMBLE REZA is a group of mostly Sussex-based professional musicians, composers and arrangers, offering unique cross-cultural experiences spanning classical, folk, jazz and world music.
Alongside their work with Ensemble Reza, members enjoy busy performing careers with leading ensembles, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and London Mozart Players, as well as the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company. Their ethos has always been to bring musicians and audiences of different ages and backgrounds together, changing lives through music
