Woodwind Extravaganza - Discover the Sound of the Future

Join us for an exciting two-day Woodwind event at Graylingwell Chapel on 19 & 20 February, 10am - 5.30pm, during half term holidays, presented by leading West End multi-instrumentalists Paul Saunders & Chris Hatton, featuring talented woodwind students from the University of Chichester Conservatoire.

The two-day residency will culminate in a showcase performance at 4.30-5.30pm on Friday 20^th February featuring a carefully curated selection of highlights from the coaching sessions. Expect a vibrant mix of musical favourites, jazz pieces and modern gems across a range of woodwind instruments.

Set in the historic Graylingwell Chapel and proudly sponsored by Chichester Music Society, the event promises to blend Classical and Show music with a fresh, contemporary energy perfect for music lovers of all ages interested in discovering the skills needed for a career as a professional woodwind musicians.

Paul Saunders will run open workshops, masterclasses and performances over the two days in collaboration with the students, coaching and performing with this young talent, focusing mostly on jazz, show music, ensemble playing and the advantages of learning several instruments.

It's a community event, open to the public throughout, and is for all ages 0 - 100 to pop in, watch, listen, learn, be inspired etc. At certain appropriate spontaneous moments there can be opportunities to meet and talk to Paul and Chris. Anyone may come along to watch at any time between 9am-5.30pm. You can also enjoy the excellent community cafe and relaxed atmosphere at Graylingwell Chapel.

Especially welcome: all woodwind players, students, teachers and other professionals and amateurs alike.

Performance will be followed by a relaxed drinks and conversation, a chance to get to know the professionals socially.

***Additionally on 19th February there will be a LUNCHTIME CONCERT of classical chamber music at 12.15 1pm at Graylingwell Chapel featuring woodwind, brass, string, piano and vocal students from the University of Chichester Conservatoire. All welcome. Donations accepted for the Graylingwell Chapel charity, who have kindly donated their venue. (no advanced tickets, just turn up and enjoy the music, atmosphere and the café!)
