Barry 'The Fish' Melton

Star of Woodstock to perform in Chichester.
Barry the Fish Melton, who, with Country Joe Macdonald,
was a founder member and a major songwriter of Country Joe and the Fish, brings
his band to The Havana this month.
In the summer of 1967, Barry was a star of the Monterey Pop
Festival, whilst two years later he was performing at Woodstock, appearing
both in the film and on the triple LP of the historic festival. In the
intervening years, he has continued to be an important part of the contemporary
music scene, touring extensively in large venues in the UK, the USA and mainland
Europe.
These days Barry lives in France and the USA, but has found
time to tour in the UK, with his band; Rob Beckinsale on keyboard and
vocals, Canadian guitarist Natalie Martel on rhythm
guitar, Steve Browning on bass, Parisian Stephane Missri on
guitar and vocals, and Bernie Fox on drums.
Barry is a top class musician and Wemsfest provide an opportunity to see an
important part of the world music scene since the late 1960s at a fantastic and
atmospheric city centre venue. Its an opportunity you should not miss.
Tickets are £15 and available from Bookends and Harbour Records in Emsworth, as well as wegottickets.com
