Bringing Madge Turner to Life : a storyteller's journey
1st December, 14:00-16:00
·
Assembly Rooms, North Street, PO19 1LQ
Organised by : Chichester Women's History Group
As part of her storytelling work with Chichester Festival Theatre's Festival Friday group, award-winning storyteller Danyah Miller created an oral retelling of Madge Turner's life bringing her courage, determination and achievements to a new generation of young listeners. In this session, Danyah shares that work as part of its ongoing research and development journey.
The storytelling will be followed by an informal Q&A, offering a chance to explore Madge's life in more depth, discuss the historical research behind the piece, and hear from the group's own knowledge and insights as the story continues to evolve.
