Charity Golf Day at Cowdray Park

7th May, 08:30

Organised by : St Wilfrid's Hospice

Join St Wilfrids for a day of golf with your colleagues while supporting a great local cause.

The golf day is a very friendly and relaxed event, and can be as competitive as you wish amongst your teams. We invite teams of 4 players to take part but, if you would like to attend as an individual, well happily find you a friendly team to join.

What does the day involve?

The day starts at 8.30am with registration in the foyer, followed by bacon rolls & coffee in the bar and a briefing with the team from Cowdray Park, where maps will be provided. The 18-hole course commences with a shotgun start at 10am in which all players start at the same time, across the 18-holes.

This starting format is a fabulous way of ensuring that all golfers and teams can enjoy the two-course meal and prize giving together from 14.30pm. There will be the opportunity to purchase the homemade refreshments from the wonderful St. Wilfrids Hospice kitchen, whilst making your way around the course, and some fantastic prizes to be won with our raffle and auction.

How to get involved

The event costs £130pp, or £500 for a team of 4, which includes a bacon roll on arrival, an 18-hole round of golf and the two-course meal following play, as well as the opportunity to Beat the Pro. Green fees for this time of day for visitors are normally £95 without any food!

There is also an opportunity to sponsor a hole, if you are unable to attend on the day, or would like to do so in addition to playing. Sponsoring a hole is £100, and gives you the opportunity to have banners, balloons, and any other decorations to promote on the day.

Want to take on an extra challenge?

We will be running an opportunity to Beat the Pro. This is a golf game format where amateur golfers compete against a single stroke played by a professional golfer on a designated hole. The aim is to score better than the pro on that hole to win. This is included in the ticket prices for everyone to get involved if they would like to.

We are very grateful to Cowdray Park for providing us with this opportunity as we are only one of five charity days at the Golf Club outside of their Captains Days for the whole of 2025.

Cowdray Park Golf Club is a beautiful venue, and fantastic Golf Course as it stands, however, last Autumn, the club undertook extensive refurbishments, the first renovations in 50 years, since the 1970s. Renovations took place on the driving range, tees and bunkers, so joining us for the Golf Day in May, will mean you are some of the first golfers to play on the newly renovated site.
