What to expect
With activities spread across the city, families can set off on a festive family trail, collecting stamps along the way and enjoying a series of creative and heartwarming experiences. Therell be stilt walkers, snow flutter effects at The Cross, and live broadcasts from V2 Radio, wholl be keeping the atmosphere bright with everyones favourite festive tunes.
Here are all the fun stops to enjoy on the day:
- Chichester Cathedral Cloisters, access via West Street Take part in Christmas crafting with the team from Chichester Festival Theatre.
- The Library, Tower Street Listen to festive tales and make your own 3D ornaments to take home.
- Biscuit Pottery, Drapers Yard (The Hornet) Get hands-on with air-dry clay and create your very own Christmas elves.
- Jam Café, South Street Join Sarah and her team for Christmas crafting while enjoying a cosy treat.
- V2 Radio, East Street Visit the team outside HSBC, show your completed trail stamps and collect your festive gift (while stocks last).
- Christmas Light Characters While youre on your adventure, look out for the Christmas Light Characters on South Street. Wave hello to Father Christmas and the gang!
Alongside the trail, the Chichester District Council Christmas Market will fill East Street and North Street with twinkling stalls, offering the perfect opportunity to pick up unique gifts and delicious festive treats while soaking up the citys seasonal atmosphere.
How to take part
Pick up your Festive Family Passport from participating locations, inside the Christmas in Chichester Festivities Brochure, or download your passport here. Visit at least three trail locations, collect stamps, and return to V2 Radio on East Street to claim your festive reward all while discovering the joy and creativity that make Chichester so special at Christmas.
Let It Glow: Chichesters Magical Winter Illumination
As the day turns to evening, the festive magic continues on the Cathedral Green with the Let It Glow: Chichesters Magical Winter Illumination. This free light and sound experience, created by award-winning artists MakeAmplify, will transform the Cathedrals historic Bell Tower from 8 21 December with breathtaking projections, glowing installations and interactive sessions where visitors can paint with light. Its the perfect way to end your day in Chichester.
