Easter Sunday at the Weald and Downland Museum

Organised by : Weald and Downland Living Museum
Easter Monday
Whilst Easter Sunday was the first day when the Lenten restrictions could be lifted after 6 weeks of fasting, it was still a time of prayer, religious observance and given over to the church. However Easter Monday (and the Tuesday; together known as Hocktide) was a time to celebrate, to relax and to enjoy some time off with the days were getting warmer.
At the Museum , the Bayleaf Interpretation team will demonstrate how the household may have celebrated this, with a meal, enjoying dairy and eggs once more and with games and perhaps some dancing afterwards!
Please note: This is not an event weekend, just an opportunity to see a special additional demonstration at the Museum over this weekend.
