Step back in time this 2223 August and experience the drama and spectacle of gladiatorial combat at Fishbourne Roman Palace.
The Gladiators of Britannia bring the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the Roman arena to life in the Palaces formal gardens, with a series of dynamic displays showcasing different fighting styles and weapons. Watch as armoured combatants face off in staged contests, before the crowd is invited to decide the fate of the defeated.
From seasoned soldiers and rebels to enslaved fighters, gladiators came from all walks of life in Roman society many forced into the arena, others seeking fame, fortune, or survival. The most skilled among them became celebrated figures, admired and feared in equal measure.
