Guitar Greats Duo Come to Chidham
Two
of the most talented and respected guitarists of their genre are appearing
locally this October, as part of Wemsfest's Autumn schedule.
Gordon
Giltrap (MBE) has played with such household names as Elton John, Cliff
Richard, Paul McCartney, Brian May and Rick Wakeman. His single Heartsong,
used for many years as BBC TVs Holiday programmes theme tune, and was
nominated or an Ivor Novello award. His composition for ITVs travel
programme Wish You Were Here was used for many years, and Fear of The Dark
was the first 12-inch colour picture disc released in the UK and is a
collectors item.
After
early inspiration from such diverse greats as Hank Marvin, Jimi Hendrix and
Django Reinhardt, John Etheridge has since become a guitar great himself, and
has worked with guitarist John Williams; Stephane Grappelli, Nigel Kennedy,
Soft Machine and many others.
Together
they form a supremely talented duo and are sure to provide a highly enjoyable
evening, encompassing music from their respective careers.
