Organised by : Weald and Downland Living Museum

Living History: Lammas Day

Join us for Lammas Day and immerse yourself in medieval times as we bring history to life as we celebrate the blessing the First Fruits of harvest with www.blackknighthistorical.co.uk/ Black Knight Historical Group, who will be living and working over a Lammas Day Fayre in and around some of the historic buildings at the Museum.

In our Market Square, you can explore a Lammas Day Fayre, with markets stalls and medieval traders, as it may have been in c1484, during the reign of Richard III. All celebrating the first wheat harvest of the year (Lammas meaning Loaf Mass).
