Woodcut Christmas Cards
Sunday 8 November 2015
9.30am to 4.30pm
THE COURSE
Using the Museum as inspiration, learn to design an image and transfer it onto a woodblock, using wood cutting tools to carve the image, and practice mark making techniques. You will then print your own woodblock to produce ten Christmas cards. Afterwards you can take your woodblock away with you so that you can print more at home.
THE TUTOR
Will Dyke studied at Harrow College, University of Westminster. He has also benefited from further tuition at West Dean College. He prints on an old Cropper Charlton press, producing limited edition prints, using the methods of wood cut and lino cut. Much of his artwork is inspired by rural life and history. Many images are from studies he has made of exhibits in the Weald and Downland Museum, Singleton, where he also proud to be a volunteer.
