BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE

Red Priest recently described in the New York Times as the wildly virtuosic little band has been at the cutting edge of baroque music performance for over a quarter of a century. Formed in 1997 and named after the original red priest Antonio Vivaldi - the quartet has developed a truly unique style, combining high-energy performance, boundary crossing arrangements and theatrical presentation, delighting audiences across the globe. Red Priest has crossed the Atlantic for over 50 coast-to-coast tours of America, Mexico, Cuba and Canada, as well as performing in prestigious festivals in almost every European country, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Lebanon, Japan, China, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. The group has given numerous radio and TV broadcasts, including a fly-on-the-wall documentary for The South Bank Show in 2005, which attracted a million viewers.

Doors open 7pm, concert 7.30pm - 9.30pm with interval.

PARKING at the University on campus, close to the venue.
Directions: turn off College Lane onto the university campus, drive as far as possible and turn left at the end. Allow at least 5 mins to walk to the chapel.
PAYING for parking: you need the Pay by Phone app (run by Parkingeye) on your smartphone. To park after 6pm it costs £1.50 for the whole evening, using the PaybyPhone app. On your mobile phone, download the app from playstore. The Pay By Phone app icon looks like a black box with 9 green squares inside. Its a good idea to get this set up in advance as internet signal can be temperamental in Chichester. There is no way to pay by cash and if you dont pay you WILL be fined! Alternative parking is available fairly nearby in the Festival of Chichester car park.

The Chapel is a modern-looking building the other side of some other University buildings from the carpark. Please ask passers by if lost!
