- Riddles in Runes Trail Journey the site on a Saxon quest to solve some fiendishly tricky riddles. The only trouble is that the answers are written in Ancient Runes! Can you decipher the code to reveal the answers? Good luck, you might just need it.
- Meet the Saxon Man in the Woods 10.30am to 4pm
Meet our Saxon man who has taken up residence in our Saxon Hall House for the week. Join him to learn how to weave, make stamps on leather, grind corn, explore some Saxon weapons and try on some Saxon clothing. He will also be spending the week making an authentic Saxon bread oven, see how this develops over the week! - Saxon Story Telling and Runes Fortune Telling Monday 26 & Friday 30
Join our storyteller Dawn Nelson for stories of dragons, quests and Norse gods at 1130,1230 1330 and 1430 in the market square. In between storytelling sessions, have your runes read as Dawn talks you through the Futhark rune row, rolls the runic dice and discovers what the future holds for you! - Meet the Cunning Women 10.30-4pm, Monday 26 and Friday 30
The wise and cunning women on be on hand to tell you how to cure all sorts of weird and wonderful illnesses and ailments. Using a mixture of medicine, magic, amulets, folklore and herbs she will have a possible cure for all. Dont miss her timed theatrical and interactive performances of the ancient 9 herb charm and a cure for being elfshot!
