Back in July 2022, we were delighted and honoured to announce that the South Downs Planetarium & Science center had been chosen to take part in the ESA/Webb community events that celebrated the release of the very first images and data from the James Webb Space Telescope the largest, most sophisticated space telescope ever built and launched.

Since capturing its first images, Webbs scientific observations have continued apace to explore the missions key science themes, including exoplanet atmospheres, starbirth regions, dying stars, colliding galaxies, the very early universe and much more.

New images and results are being released weekly now and this show is continually updated to feature the very latest results as well as some of the earlier spectacular images. Some will be shown as breathtaking fulldome views in the Planetarium.

Beyond what is already planned for Webb, there are the unexpected discoveries astronomers cant anticipate. What might Webb discover? Come to the Planetarium to find out more.

The content of this show is suitable for adults and older children.
