Try Croquet at Rother Valley Croquet Club

If the idea of some gentle competition, a little very light exercise and the opportunity to make new friends all in a beautiful rural setting appeals to you then croquet may be what youre looking for.

Rother Valley Croquet Club, based in Duncton just south of Petworth is looking to welcome new members for the 2026/27 season. Were running a free taster session on SATURDAY 9th MAY from 10.30am 1.00pm. Weve got all the kit youll need plus free parking, tea, coffee and probably cake. Just bring your flat soled shoes and a big smile.

Croquet is a game for all ages, all sizes and all skill levels. At the basic level its exceedingly simple the first to seven points wins the game. But then the fun begins as your opponent spoils all your best laid plans and what seemed so simple now becomes a lot more challenging.

The club runs regular competitions as well as matches against other local clubs and plenty of social events. People join the club in ones or twos or more - youll soon make friends and have plenty of people to play with.
