Tuppenny Barn Annual Open Day
Organised by : Tuppenny Barn
We are delighted to once again put on our Annual Open Day this year!
Tuppenny Barn is an iconic, organic smallholding that has a beautiful education centre built from straw bales and considered a beacon of sustainability within our local community. The site is used as an outdoor classroom to teach children about the environment, sustainability and healthy food. There are 2½ acres packed with a wildlife pond, an orchard with heritage top fruit varieties, two solar polytunnels, fruit cages, raised vegetables, herbs, and a cut flower garden. Our willow provides natural arches and wind breaks, while the bug hotel and beehives support vital pollinators.
Come and check us out for yourselves and indulge in one of our delicious cream teas or cake, pick berries from our soft fruit cage and learn all about your local charity. There will be lots of plants on sale as well as our produce shop. For the children there will be activities linked to what we try and promote. Adrian, our bee keeper will talk about his bees and the hives we have on site. Our Nurture Nature group will be supporting the event and would love to show off what they are doing.
All proceeds will go towards the charity and our work in the community.
