Vive La France - French Film Festival

As the only UK festival devoted exclusively to contemporary and classic French cinema, the French Film Festival UK has earned an unrivalled reputation as a showcase for contemporary French cinema in this country and abroad. Most of the 21 films selected here are UK Premieres or Previews screened here for the first time, with many having their World Premieres in Cannes and the London Film Festival.

Our premieres include some beloved French icons of the past in four biopics: Sarah Bernhardt, Charles Aznavour, Simone Signoret and a charming animated film on Marcel Pagnol. The films feature such French luminaries as Isabelle Huppert, Gerard Depardieu, Sandrine Kiberline, Daniel Auteuil and Michel Blanc.

This year, we are including several classic French films. Celebrating 150 years since the birth of Marcel Pagnol, we present the restored Jean de Florette and Manon de Sources; plus a tribute to the late Bertrand Blier with a screening of Buffet Froid. Both will be supported by illustrated talks.
