Woodstock Star Performs in Chichester in Farewell Tour

9th August, 20:00-22:30  ·  Havana Bar, Little London, Chichester, PO19 1PH
2157765 1024xdne

Organised by : Wemsfest

Barry the Fish Melton was (with Country Joe Macdonald) a founder member and a major songwriter with Country Joe and the Fish, and he appears at Chichesters Havana Bar for the last time.

In the Summer of 1967, Barry was a star of the Monterey Pop Festival, whilst two years later he was performing at Woodstock, appearing both in the film and on the triple LP of the historic festival. In the intervening years, he has continued to be an important part of the contemporary music scene, touring extensively in large venues in the UK, the USA and mainland Europe.

These days Barry lives in France and the USA, but has found time to tour in the UK, accompanied by The Psych Unit, and top Jerry Garcia tribute band Under the Stars, who feature 3 members of Jamasutra.

Wemsfest provides an opportunity to see a much renowned musician who has been an important part of the world music scene since the late 1960s - at an atmospheric and intimate city centre venue. A fantastic laid-back evening of Californian hippiedom is in prospect, perfect for an August Summer evening.

The show is at the Havana Bar, Little London, Chichester, PO19 1PH on Sunday 9th of August and starts at 8.00pm, doors open at 7.30.

Tickets are £17.50 and available from Bookends and Harbour Records in Emsworth, The Westbourne Café, as well as wegottickets.com
