This year marks MONOPOLYs 90th anniversary and to celebrate, twenty UK cathedral cities have been competing for the opportunity to land their very own custom edition, continuing a tradition that has seen many locations receive their own unique MONOPOLY board games across the world over the years.
Chichester has won a UK-wide city beauty contest, outperforming the 19 other famous cathedral cities based on three factors: Beauty; Sense of Family and Civic Pride.
The boards sets will be themed across different genres - including heritage, shopping, entertainment, tourism, leisure, business and more, all showcasing the very finest Chichester has to offer.
The four train stations from the original London MONOPOLY classic will be handed over to a travel theme, whilst the Chance and Community Chest cards will be customised too. One card could send players Back Three Spaces for leaving your phone on during a performance of Hamlet at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
The public is invited to suggest Chichester landmarks to be featured on the famous MONOPOLY spaces, as well as wording for the customised cards. Suggestions can be made by email to: chichester@winningmoves.co.uk
Nominations will be accepted for consideration until 23.59pm on 21st July 2025. The new game will hit the shops next spring (2026).
