Residents invited to have their say on proposed merger of Graffham and East Lavington Parish Councils

Chichester District Council is inviting residents and interested organisations to take part in a Community Governance Review regarding the future parish arrangements for Graffham and East Lavington.

 The review will consider a proposal to merge Graffham Parish Council and East Lavington Parish Council into a single parish council to be known as Graffham and East Lavington Parish Council.

 Community Governance Reviews enable councils to consider whether local governance arrangements continue to reflect the identities and interests of local communities and whether they support effective and convenient local government.

Chichester District Council is not undertaking a wider review of parish arrangements across the district at this time.

 As part of the first stage of the review, the council is seeking views from residents, community groups and other stakeholders on the proposed merger. This consultation will run from Wednesday 23 September to Friday 23 October 2026.

All responses received during the consultation period will be considered by the Boundary Review Panel before recommendations are made to Full Council, which will make the final decision.
