All units at Chichesters St James' Industrial Estate now under offer
An industrial estate in Chichester is marking a major milestone now that all units are under offer.
Chichesters St James' Industrial Estate was transformed in 2023 following a multi-million-pound investment by owner and operator, Chichester District Council. The arrival of a premium Spanish-inspired indoor padel club brand Vida Del Padel from 7 February means that all units are now under offer since the site was re-opened.
The centre will offer year-round indoor padel for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced players, with a strong focus on social play, coaching and community.
Were delighted to welcome Vida Del Padel to our St James Industrial Estate, says Councillor Adrian Moss, Leader of Chichester District Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Property. Its fantastic news because it means that all units on the site are now either fully occupied or under offer for the first time since re-opening in 2023, following the councils £6 million regeneration project. Commercial property agent, Flude, also worked closely with us to market the units.
This is an exciting and positive addition to our district, supporting our aims around boosting the local economy and bringing more jobs to the city as well as supporting our residents health and wellbeing. It will provide a modern, welcoming space for residents of all ages to try a fast-growing sport, meet new people and stay active throughout the year.
The Chichester club will include four indoor courts, including one dedicated single court. The playing conditions are built to satisfy serious players and professionals, while still being welcoming and confidence building for starters and beginners who are picking up a bat for the first time. The Chichester site will also feature a relaxed clubhouse feel, creating a welcoming space for friends, families, juniors and local businesses to play, compete and connect. The project will also create new local jobs across coaching and operations, and forms part of Vida Del Padels wider growth across the UK.
Ross Carlin, Director and Co-Founder, of Vida Del Padel, says: Our vision with Vida Del Padel is to create the coolest indoor padel clubs in the UK places that feel energetic, welcoming and a bit special every time you walk in. Chichester is an exciting next step for us. We want this club to be a hub for the local community, where people can discover padel for the first time, play regularly with friends, join socials and events, and really feel part of something unique.
Were also passionate about making padel accessible, fun and social. Working with Chichester District Council, local schools and businesses, we see a huge opportunity to get more people moving, meeting and enjoying sport all year round. Chichester has a great energy to it and were proud to be investing here and creating new opportunities for local people.
St James Industrial Estate is now home to a wide range of businesses including local food producer, Mud Foods; Hellcats Cheerleaders; Whisk Art Cake Studio; and traditional plastering and micro-cement specialists Lime and Marble.
Cllr Moss adds: We do everything we can to support local businesses and attract inward investment to the district which is why its so important that we have modern, high-quality business premises such as St James as well as our Enterprise Centre and Ravenna Point units.
Our Economic Development Team also offer a wide range of assistance to help support businesses, whether start-ups or growing companies or businesses looking to relocate to the area as part of our Invest Chichester programme. If any business is keen to learn more about the opportunities available within the district then I would strongly urge them to contact our Economic Development Team by emailing business.support@chichester.gov.uk or calling 01243 534669.
