Chichester Cinema is bringing festive magic to local families this December with the launch of Family Flicks, a new weekend of affordable films and creative workshops from Saturday 20 to Monday 22 December 2025. The initiative is supported by Film Hub South East, Clarion Futures and Hyde Housing.

Over three days, audiences can enjoy a joyful mix of classics and new releases - from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Wallace & Gromit to E.T., Kensukes Kingdom, The Jungle Book and the new sequel Wicked: For Good, fresh from its UK release. With all film tickets just £2.50 for both children and adults, the weekend invites families to come together for the kind of big-screen moments that spark nostalgia, fuel imagination and stay with you for a lifetime.

Alongside the films, Family Flicks offers a trio of £5 hands-on workshops, giving children the chance to explore the magic behind movie-making. As they count down the days until Father Christmas arrives, young creatives can step into the world of stop-motion animation, experiment with sound effects, and explore the art of production design.

Anne-Marie Flynn, Executive Director at Chichester Cinema, said: Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but it can also bring added financial pressure for many families. We wanted to create something joyful and accessible - a programme of delights that offer magical shared moments across all ages. Family Flicks is our way of opening those experiences up to everyone.

Family Flicks Film Programme - All Tickets £2.50

Family Flicks Creative Workshops (Ages 612)

Alongside the programme of films, Family Flicks offers three 75-minute creative workshops. These hands-on sessions are just £5 per child, giving children the opportunity to step behind the scenes of movie-making - from stop-motion animation to sound effects and production design, enabling them to explore their creativity and learn more about what goes into making movies. Each session encourages them to experiment, imagine and create - to play with ideas, discover new skills and see how the magic of filmmaking comes to life.

Workshop Schedule: Frame-By-Frame - Stop-Motion Workshop - Saturday 20 December, 10:15am Whoosh, Bang, Pow! Led by The Art of Sound Effects Workshop - Sunday 21 December, 10:15am Scene Stealers, presented in association with Jam Cafe - The Art of Production Design Workshop - Monday 22 December, 10:15am
