1D5646 GROW YOUR OWN FRUIT AND VEGETABLES – AUTUMN
Tutor: ROSIE YEOMANS
Date: 1 DAY SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER
This course is one of a seasonal series for new gardeners, which can be taken individually or as a group. They are designed for those who are new to gardening and want to find out the very best way of setting up and managing their gardens.
ABOUT YOUR COURSE:
As the vegetable garden begins to wind down for the season there is still plenty to do.
Rosie will discuss and demonstrate the importance of soil preparation and the materials that can be used to improve soil structure.
Winter crop management and sowing for early spring harvest will be reviewed.
It is time to plan the plot and buy seed ready for the spring. We will discuss crop choice, best varieties and plan their future management.
New fruit trees and bushes can be planted and established fruit pruned, both will be demonstrated. As with the first two courses there will be a mixture of hands on practical demonstrations with classroom based lectures.
